Workshop Rotation Model: A Fresh Focus
Workshop Rotation is a multi-dimensional approach to Christian
Education that involves students and teachers in exploring and
experiencing Bible stories in the ways that God has gifted us to learn.
This session is intended to help leaders who have an existing workshop
rotation model program to explore questions of Who, What, When, Where,
Why, and How to keep it fresh and vital.
Phyllis Wezeman is co-author of over 1500 books and articles and
serves as Director of Christian Nurture at First Presbyterian Church of
South Bend, Indiana. She also serves as Project Director of Worship
for Life, a national study on “Worship Skills for Children.”
Worship Skills for Children: A Multiple Intelligences Approach
Participants in this workshop will discover ways to help children, as
well as youth and adults, explore and experience the broad theme of
worship and twelve components of a service of worship through
interactive methods based on the theory of multiple intelligences.
Activities involving creative methods such as art, creative writing,
drama, games, music, puppetry, storytelling, and many more will provide
ideas and instruction for use in a variety of settings such as Sunday
classes, midweek ministries, intergenerational events, and seasonal
programs. Through their involvement in this session, participants will
discover resources that engage all ages in understanding parts of a
worship service and in integrating their renewed appreciation of worship
into congregational life.
