Spiritual Transformation and Loss

Spiritual transformation of self or congregation is related to the ability to grieve loss.  This workshop explores the process of opening to new life in the absence of someone or something significant. 

In his personal journey with loss, Dr. Moseley discovered that there are experiences in grieving loss that provide occasions for discovery of new life.  When we spend time attending to the losses of our lives, we discover seeds of new life in our pain, our anger and our guilt.  Those seeds can then grow into the discovery of a new self or a new community of faith.

Dr. Moseley has been involved in the development of Grief Healing, Inc., an organization developing ministries to those who grieve. He has been active in teaching preaching and ministry skills throughout the United States.

Dr. Moseley also serves on the Board of the "Listening to Listeners" project that is being directed by Ron Allen. He does workshops on Grieving and Spirituality, as well as workshops on Interim Ministers. He is a regular faculty at the College of Preachers in Washington DC.

 Moseley has numerous articles and sermons that have appeared in publications including Best Sermons 3, The Disciples Theological Digest, Journal for Biblical Preaching, Encounter and The Christian Ministry Magazine. He is the editor of a book of sermons on stewardship entitled Joyful Giving published by Chalice Press in 1997.

Dr. Moseley's first book Living With Loss was published by Brentwood, TN-based publisher Xyzzy Press in 2008.
