Legal Issues for Clergy

This interactive workshop will inform members of the clergy and Pastoral Relations Committees on legal issues of importance to the clergy.  Among the issues to be discussed are: clergy boundary concerns with church members and others; liability insurance needs; employment concerns with and between clergy and support staff; personnel matters – who can you hire, who can you not hire; torts and contracts. 

Legal Issues for Congregations

This interactive workshop will inform congregational leaders on legal issues of importance to the congregation.  The discussion of issues may include: the congregation’s role in maintaining healthy boundaries; compensation issues for clergy and staff; liability concerns; property taxes.  Also, election season is upon us, what can and cannot be said in and around the church, and who can say it?
