Forums

Forums on Friday afternoon will once again present opportunity for personal congregational development.  This year's forums will cover three major areas of church health: stewardship, evangelism and worship.  Forums will begin at 2:00 on Friday afternoon.

Developing Generous Givers

Rev. Dr. William Enright

William G. Enright, Ph.D., is Executive Director of the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and former Senior Pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis.

He has authored several books, the latest being Channel Markers, and lectured at numerous colleges, universities and theological institutions as well as business associations such as The Young Presidents and World Presidents organizations. In July, 2005, he served as “preacher and chaplain” for the Chautauqua Institution in New York.

Possible Evangelism

Rev. Dawn Darwin Weaks

Rev. Dawn Darwin Weaks heard the call to ministry at church camp when she was fourteen and still remembers how scared she was to say, "Yes." But she's been regularly glad she did. Now serving as co-pastor of Raytown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband, Joe Weaks, Dawn is passionate about Disciples of Christ evangelism.  For her, "Disciples of Christ evangelism" is not an oxymoron but a world-changing opportunity.  After eleven years of ordained pastoral ministry, you still can't talk her out of it.

She is most recently a contributing author to Gay Reese's book, Unbinding the Church.

Worship

Rev. Dr. Tércio Junker

Dr. Junker will also be serving as worship leader for the Friday evening worship service.
